On May 6th children of all ages gathered at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station. They had the opportunity to do the following activities:
•Animal Rescue Relay
•Sea Turtle Crafts
•Character Meet and Greet
•Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs)
This was fun for the whole family to get involved with! For only $10 per a family you had the chance to partake in such amazing memories with your children. My sister and I went to see this event. We met so many kind hearted people. Charlene Mauro, the woman who made all of this happen, really had the best people volunteering for her. You can tell they are passionate about the ocean and making people smile. The sponsors were awesome too! I had the chance to introduce myself to many of the sponsors, and I was so grateful for how dedicated they were to this event.
The children who attended this event gained a wealth of knowledge about the world around them. The marine science station was a comfortable atmosphere for all who attended. The families had the opportunity to interact with one another at this fabulous social. I made a lot of new friends, and learned a lot also.
My favorite part was seeing the children bond over the little crabs they had in a baby pool, you could pick them and they would tickle the palm of their hands. I have never seen so many kids throw their heads back laughing at the little crabs. This is what the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station does, it’s a safe place for children to learn about the ocean and make new friends.
The next Autism Odyssea is not scheduled until next year.
