2018 Summer Camp Schedule:


Dolphin Discovery

June 11-15 

Grades: (students entering) grades 3rd-5th and 6th-8th (2 sections) 

Time: Daily 9am-3pm 

Cost: $275 includes a t-shirt and private dolphin cruise 

Ever wanted to view the underwater world through the eyes of a dolphin? Well now you can. Join us as we explore and discover how dolphins interact with their environment. Learn fascinating facts about dolphin anatomy, echolocation, and how they have adapted to living in the ocean. We will have the opportunity to observe wild dolphins in their natural habitat aboard a private charter dolphin cruise out of Pensacola Bay. 

Your child will need to bring sun block, a lunch (no peanut products please), drink and water bottle, water shoes (or old tennis shoes-something that can be worn in the water), beach towel and a change of clothes.

Reefs & Robotics (Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles) – Back by Popular Demand!

June 18-22 

Grades: (students entering) grades 6th-8th  

Time: 9am-3pm daily 

Cost: $300 (Includes a t-shirt, ROV supplies, kayaking, snorkeling equipment and instruction) 

Students will study the surrounding habitats by snorkeling and will learn about the Navarre Beach artificial reefs. The camp will introduce students to mechanical design, construction, and problem solving and teamwork skills to build an ROV to explore the underwater world. This camp is excellent for students who enjoy snorkeling or robotics.

Paddlepalooza

June 25-29 

Grades: (students entering) 3rd -8th grade 

Cost: $300 (Includes a t-shirt, surf & SUP lesson, and a canoe trip) 

Time 9am-3pm daily 

Campers will make a splash while learning to surf. 

Join us for an awesome week of paddling fun. Campers will enjoy an adventurous week exploring local waters as they surf their way into the Gulf of Mexico, kayak their way through Santa Rosa Sound, and canoe their way down Black Water River. The week includes activities at the Science Station, surfing lessons, a Stand up Paddle Board session, and a trip to Black Water River. 

Your child will need to bring sun block, a lunch (no peanut products please), drink and water bottle, water shoes (or old tennis shoes-something that can be worn in the water), lunch, beach towel and a change of clothes. 

Prerequisite: Students must have the ability to pass a swim test

New! Ocean Conservation Mini-Camp

Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3 

Grades: (students entering) grades 1st-2nd and 3rd -5th (2 sections) 

8am-12pm 

Cost: $100 (includes a t-shirt) 

Students learn how they can make a difference and #bethesealution. From the effects of marine debris on marine animals to the importance of seagrasses, participants will investigate habitats by seining and snorkeling. Participants will learn about the invasive lionfish and the entire family is invited to view the Discovery Depot. 

Your child will need to bring sun block, a snack (no peanut products please), drink and water bottle, water shoes (or old tennis shoes-something that can be worn in the water), beach towel and a change of clothes.

 Guy Harvey/FWC Fishing Camp

July 9-13 

Ages: 9-14 

Time: 9am-3pm daily 

Cost: $375 (includes a t-shirt, fishing pole, and tackle box, deep sea fishing trip, SUP session, and fish fry) 

Get reeled into fishing with a five day fishing camp! 

The Navarre Beach Marine Science Station is the only facility in Northwest Florida selected to partner with the Guy Harvey Foundation and Florida Fish and Wildlife to offer this exciting opportunity. Learn about fish biology and conservation as well as fishing tackle, methods, and techniques. Campers will receive a custom designed Guy Harvey shirt made just for our camp, Guy Harvey accessories, small tackle box, and a fishing pole. 

Fees of $375 include instruction, kayaking, field investigations, deep sea fishing trip aboard the Entertainer charter boat, fishing on the Navarre Pier, fly fishing demonstrations, and a fish fry for participants and their family on Friday!

New! Arts and the Sea

July 16-20 

Grades: (students entering) grade K -3rd grade (2 sections) 

Cost: $175 (includes t-shirt and bag) 

Time: 8am-11am 

Learn, make, and play as we dive into the life and beauty of the ocean world. Using a variety of materials and techniques, this camp is dedicated to creating art inspired by the creature, habitats, and mysteries of the big blue.  

Your child will need to bring sun block, a snack (no peanut products please), drink and water bottle, water shoes (or old tennis shoes-something that can be worn in the water), beach towel and a change of clothes.

New! Mommy (or Daddy) and Me by the Sea – Sea Turtles

Saturday, July 28 

Ages: 4 & 5 year olds and one parent (additional fee for second adult) 

Time: 8am-11am 

Cost: $75 includes matching t-shirts 

Strap on your flippers and get ready to discover life as a sea turtle during our half-day camp.  Learn how lighting, marine debris, and beach furniture effect sea turtle nesting habits. Participate in sea turtle rescue relays and try out kayaking. Discover what a sea turtles favorite food is, and become a turtle vet to solve the mystery of an injured turtle.    

Both participants will need to bring sun block, a snack (no peanut products please), drink and water bottle, water shoes (or old tennis shoes-something that can be worn in the water), beach towel and a change of clothes.

July 30 – Aug 3 

Grades: (Students entering) grades 3rd-5th and 6th-8th (2 sections) 

Time: Daily 9am-3pm 

Cost: $275 includes a t-shirt and private dolphin cruise 

During this week of summer camp, we study marine mammals, sea turtles and SHARKS! Students will about animal anatomy and adaptations by participating in hands-on activities. Join us as we look for sea turtles and dolphins on a private dolphin cruise on Pensacola Bay. Participants will also dissect a shark.
